Banished from the Heavens...
We are The Wild Strays!
Crawling out from the depths of the UK Midlands Music scene, wielding the self-defined genre of 'Punk and Rock and Metal and Stuff'; our aim is to bring music to the masses that everyone can get onboard with. With a combination of heartfelt lyrics, metal inspired riffs and punk infused vocals; we hope to bring all these Stray genres together in Wild harmony!
------------------------------ Our Story (so far...) ------------------------------
The Wild Strays were originally conceived in May 2017 and officially unleashed in September 2017; after months of working behind the scenes...
Grace Hale and KT Eden, ascended from the ashes of a previous project, to continue their passion for music in a way that suited them. Fed up and tired of being restricted by previous bands lack of creativity, ability and drive; these girls we’re no longer going to be held down.
Songs were written, plans were drawn up and a fitting band name was agreed upon. The Wild Strays would be the culmination of years of emotional roller coasters in and outside of music. Now all that remained was to find other like minded strays...
Jake Adshead unofficially joined as the bands Bassist in September. Having worked with Grace previously, Jake was someone who shared similar passions and could be trusted. Though he had some reservations about joining another band, potentially doomed to fail, he soon realised that this could be something and was officially announced as member in January 2018.
Difficulties arose in the first few weeks of inception, as the Strays were still lacking a Drummer. With a need to play gigs and get The Wild Strays name out there; KT sought help from an old friend... Phil Brookes filled in as the bands Drummer to see out the end of 2017 and ensure that the band could get their name out there and start getting noticed. Phil had many good traits that suited the band well; unfortunately the musical styles were not a match and so the hunt began for a more suitable replacement.
Though difficult, Phil’s departure from the Strays would be best for everyone. Allowing both parties to go on to greater things and write their own story. With the Strays remaining eternally grateful for Phil giving the band a head start.
The Wild Strays were determined to find a new Drummer that would be suitable for the long term benefits of the band. Near the close of 2017, it seemed that finding such an individual might actually be possible...
Jake Spicer Gill was the last Stray to enter the fold; bringing with him the energy and passion the band needed to propel them forward into a brighter future. Jake, or the less confusing: Spice, officially joined the band in January 2018 as the Drummer.
Line-up complete. Songs written and rehearsed. Now all they need is- Wait. What!?
Jake, long time bassist and friend decided to join the Army in October 2018; Thus leaving another gap in the line-up of The Wild Strays. A new member was again required and so the hunt began once more.
Bassists were auditioned and vetted carefully to ensure a perfect fit. And the results were in...
Tanya Rollason, another long term friend of well, Jake actually; came, saw and conquered her audition. Filling the room with some truly Wild energy, Tanya aka Padatan established herself as the latest Stray to join the pack.
Line-up complete. Again. More songs written and rehearsed. The Wild Strays were ready (again) to tear the world a new one, in all the best ways!
Watch out, things are about to get Wild!
