Banished from the Heavens...
We are The Wild Strays!

Crawling out from the depths of the Midlands Music scene, wielding the self-defined genre of 'Punk and Rock and Metal and Stuff'; our aim is to bring music to the masses that everyone can get onboard with. With a combination of heartfelt lyrics, metal inspired riffs and punk infused vocals; we hope to bring all these Stray genres together in Wild harmony!

The Story So Far...

~ I. Exordium ~

The Wild Strays were originally conceived in May 2017 and officially unleashed in September 2017; after months of working behind the scenes...

Grace Hale and KT Eden, ascended from the ashes of a previous project, to continue their passion for music in a way that suited them. Fed up and tired of being restricted by previous bands lack of creativity, ability and drive; these girls were no longer going to be held down.

Songs were written, plans were drawn up and a fitting band name was agreed upon. The Wild Strays would be the culmination of years of emotional rollercoasters in and outside of music. Now all that remained was to find other like minded strays...

Jake Adshead unofficially joined as the bands Bassist in September 2017. Having worked with Grace previously, Jake was someone who shared similar passions and could be trusted. Though he had some reservations about joining another band, potentially doomed to fail; he soon realised that this could be something and was officially announced as a member in January 2018.

Jake Spicer Gill was the last original Stray to enter the fold; bringing with him the energy and passion the band needed to propel them forward into a brighter future. Jake, or the less confusing: Spice, officially joined the band in January 2018 as the Drummer.

This line-up continued until October 2018, when super bassist Jake left to join the Army. Though the remaining strays could not be more proud of him; a new member was required to re-complete the line-up...

 ~ II. Tempest ~

The time between October 2018 and August 2019 was eventful to say the least. Some ultimately temporary changes took place within The Wild Strays, as we entered what could be described as an eye of a storm; a tempest if you will.

Tanya Rollason, a former friend of now Army Private Jake, took up bass duties in his stead. Bringing in some much needed attitude to the live shows. Aiding the band in playing some amazing venues and supporting some incredible bands, it was a true Wild Winter leading into the new year.

Unfortunately, January 2019 saw the departure of founding member: KT. As she went on to tackle personal issues, the band continued as a three-piece; now fronted by lead guitarist: Grace.

Playing successive shows as just three members, while tackling the many problems life offers proved too much for the band. The Wild Strays buckled under the strain and was forced into a unexpected hiatus from April 2019. Recovery was uncertain and all things Wild seemed to fade out, as all the members Strayed away…

~ III. New Wild Order ~

Like an ascending phoenix, The Wild Strays rose again from its ashes. Guided by the fire of burning bridges, KT returned to the pack with the requirements to rebuild. A friendship between Grace and KT was rekindled, with both members now stronger from their own personal hell they fought through. Its adamant founding members restored, new Strays were required...

Enter Liam McCarthy, drummer extraordinaire. Officially joining the band in August 2019, Liam was able to bring new life to The Wild Strays back catalogue; as well as expertly carving his own way into the new songs that were written during the bands downtime. Liam was a relatively undiscovered talent that had only recently started his foray into the Live music scene.

This New Wild Order still required some new blood. So that's exactly what was sought in a new bass player...

Michael Talbot, an exceptional bassist that well exceeded expectations. With only a years experience handling a guitar, it was considered that maybe this new blood would be too fresh. Fortunately, Mike was incredibly dedicated to his instrument and it was quickly ascertained that his bass playing skills would help ascend The Wild Strays to new heights.

The Line-up was once again complete. With fresh ideas in the mix, The Wild Strays were once again ready to take on the World. The energy among the band was electrifying; this was it and they knew it.

~ IV. System Update: B.R.U.C.E - Ver. 2k.XX ~

The New Year upon them, it seemed only fitting that a fresh coat of paint would re-affirm The Wild Strays presence in the world. Rocking a new logo and theme, the band are now set to focus on all the aspects that makes them who they are. What defines their personalities and more importantly: what defines their sound!

2020 also bears some significance to the band; Sharing a title of the first song G-Race and KT worked on together many years ago. It seemed only fitting that the band mascot: Bruce would evolve this year. Upgrading all Wild systems in his honour; now with clearer vision and some set pipeline realities for the year ahead!

Expect awesome new music, a potential new band member and some incredible new social activities!

~ V. Hope Isn't Dead, It's Just Missing In Action ~

So COVID happened...

And unfortunately it brought about a lot of problems for the music scene, The Wild Strays being no exception. But the mantra of the band was never about what happens to them, it's about how they recover in light of the threatening darkness.

The numbers of the group had thinned down to two, with only Grace and Liam remaining to continue the Wild legacy. Despite the dwindling forces, they decided to continue forth with the next step: Operation Awesome Album.

So that's the focus. A debut, full studio album that shows the recovery & progression of the The Wild Strays. A culmination of everything that makes the band who they are, all spread across 11 or so tracks. A record in every sense of the word. To be proud of. To display the journey...

Hope Isn't Dead, It's Just Missing In Action is officially in production, with a target release date of March 2023.

Stay tuned for more updates, until then...

Keep it Wild, Strays!
